| About Us
RJB was started by Ross Blomgren in 1975. Ross started building radios and HiFi amplifiers at the age of 10. By the age of 12, he was repairing radios in the neighborhood. At 16, Ross began to repair televisions and jukeboxes. After attending the Milwaukee School of Engineering and finding a job with Underwriters’ Laboratories in Northbrook, Illinois, Ross continued to repair electronic equipment “on the side”. In 1979, Ross left UL and incorporated RJB Restorations Ltd in Chicago, Illinois. RJB became a world leader in restorations. In 1995, Ross went to work for Rock-Ola Mfg. Corp. as Vice President of Engineering while continuing to collect and restore as a hobby. The Rock-Ola position required re-locating to Torrance, California. The jukebox has become less of an electro-mechanical device and more of an Internet appliance reducing the number of Engineering projects. In June of 2009, the commercial jukebox division of Rock-Ola was sold to AMI Entertainment. Working with associates with expertise in finishing and metalworking, Ross has returned to his roots to offer repair and restorations once again. Check out the service tip page for useful hints or send questions or comments via e-mail. In the Fall of 2010, Ross landed a role on Beta Records TV as "Electro Ross" where different pieces of music gear are repaired and explained each week. Beta Records TV episodes air Saturday mornings on NBC High Definition cable channels or on YouTube. | |
